Madhu Soni, MD, FAAN is Professor of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). She graduated from Northwestern Medical School and completed her internship, residency training and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Soni is board certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).
Dr. Soni is chief of RUMC’s Division of Neuromuscular Medicine and director of its multidisciplinary ALS Clinic. She is on the Board of Directors for the Illinois State Neurological Society and on the Medical Advisory Board for Conquer MG (formerly, the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Illinois). Her clinical practice is located at the RUMC main campus and its Oak Brook community site.
Dr. Soni also has a special interest in medical education and is director of the neurology clerkship and advanced neurology elective at Rush Medical College. She has been recognized locally and nationally for her excellence in teaching. In 2021, she received the AAN’s Clerkship Director Teaching Award and was nominated by the RMC Dean for the AAMC Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award. Dr. Soni has served as a mentor for trainees locally and nationally. She has served in several national leadership roles and is currently the President of the Alliance for Clinical Education, Vice Chair of the AAN Leadership Development Committee and Physician Lead for the AAN Women Leading in Neurology Program.
